Terms of Use and Service

Last updated: 29 October 2026

1. About these terms

These terms cover two things: using the jiannius.com website, and the general terms under which Jiannius Technologies Sdn. Bhd. (Company No. 202101001341) (“Jiannius”, “we”, “us”) does work for clients. If you sign a proposal or agreement with us, that document comes first wherever it differs from these terms.

2. Using this website

  • The information on this site is general. It is not a binding offer, and prices and timelines are only fixed once we send, and you accept, a written quote or proposal.
  • The site’s text, design and logos belong to Jiannius or our licensors. You may share links and short quotes with credit, but please do not copy the site or pass it off as your own.
  • Please do not try to break, overload or scrape the site in a way that disrupts it.
  • Links to other websites are for convenience. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they say or do.

3. How we work with clients

Every project starts with a written quote or proposal that states the scope, price, timeline and payment schedule. Work outside that scope is quoted separately before we begin it. Prices are in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) unless the proposal says otherwise. Taxes such as SST are added where the law requires.

4. Payment

We invoice according to the schedule in the proposal. Invoices are due on the date shown on them. If an invoice is overdue, we may pause work after giving you written notice, and the timeline moves by the length of the pause.

5. Cancellation and refunds

  • You may cancel a project by written notice at any time.
  • On cancellation you pay for the work done up to the date of notice, plus any third-party costs we have already committed on your behalf and cannot recover.
  • Deposits and milestone payments cover work that has started. Once work on a milestone has begun, its payment is not refundable unless the proposal says otherwise.
  • If we do not deliver something we agreed to deliver, we will fix it at no extra charge, or refund the fee for the part we could not deliver.
  • Subscription products, such as HumbleBear, follow the terms shown when you sign up for them.

6. Who owns what

Once you have paid in full, you own the custom work we created specifically for you, as set out in your proposal. We keep ownership of our pre-existing tools, code libraries and know-how, and we give you the right to use them as part of your delivered work. Third-party and open-source components stay under their own licences.

7. Confidentiality

Each side will keep the other’s non-public information confidential and use it only for the project. This does not apply to information that is already public, that you share with others yourself, or that the law requires us to disclose.

8. Our responsibility

We do our work with reasonable skill and care. We cannot promise that software will be free of every error or run without interruption. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit, and our total liability for a project is limited to the fees you paid us for that project. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Your data

How we handle personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Kuala Lumpur, after we have first tried in good faith to resolve it between us.

11. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. Questions: hello@jiannius.com or +60 16 406 1874.
